Getting started with Tiko.

A practical guide for members learning the bot and admins setting up a server. Start with the basics, then jump into the exact system you need.

Getting started

Tiko rewards active Discord communities with XP, daily rewards, quests, jobs, loot drops, shops, and server tools for welcomes, revives, reminders, and leaderboards.

Members

  1. Chat normally to start earning XP.
  2. Claim /daily and check /quest.
  3. Use /task if you want a Welcomer or Reviver job.
  4. Check progress with /balance, /inventory, and /level.

Admins

  1. Give Tiko channel access and role permissions.
  2. Move Tiko's role above roles it needs to manage.
  3. Run /setup.
  4. Configure chatting, welcome, revive, leveling, spam, and reward channels.

User guide

You do not need to learn every system on day one. The core loop is simple: chat, claim rewards, finish quests, and spend what you earn.

  • /dailyClaim cash once per day and build a streak.
  • /questView daily tasks and claim completed quest rewards.
  • /taskApply for Welcomer or Reviver jobs.
  • /afkPause job pings until you chat again.
  • /levelCheck your XP, level, and next milestone.
  • /leaderboardSee community rankings.
Jobs: Welcomers greet new members during the welcome window. Revivers can use /revive when chat slows down. You can hold both jobs, and higher levels improve job pay.

Jobs and rewards

Jobs are optional roles that let active members earn extra rewards while helping the community feel alive.

WelcomerWelcome new members during the welcome window. Valid greetings can earn cash, and hospitality systems can track welcoming activity.
ReviverUse /revive when chat slows down. Members who participate during the revival session can receive rewards.
BreaksUse /afk to pause job pings. When you chat again, Tiko clears AFK and restores configured ping roles if it has permission.

Daily rewards

Use /daily once per day for free cash. Claim every day to grow the streak bonus. Missing a day resets the streak, and the reminder button can ask Tiko to DM you when the reward resets.

Quests

Use /quest to see daily tasks. When a quest is complete, click Claim Rewards. Sending messages can also update daily quest progress.

Economy and activities

Tiko's economy grows from normal server activity. XP unlocks better wages, lootboxes, tools, and activities over time.

Shops/marketplace for regular items, /hypermart for HyperGems, and /hospmarket for hospitality roles.
Inventory/inventory shows items. Use /use for lootboxes or consumables and /sell for extras.
MiningUse /dig with a pickaxe or shovel from the marketplace.
FishingUse /fish after unlocking and buying a Fishing Rod at level 18.
FarmingBuy a Farm Plot, then use /farm, /plant, and /harvest.
TradingUse /trade @user. Both users must confirm before anything moves.

Level unlocks

  • Level 5: Mystery lootboxes
  • Level 10: Iron Shovel
  • Level 15: Stone Pickaxe and Standard Loot
  • Level 18: Fishing Rod
  • Level 20: Iron Pickaxe
  • Level 30: Diamond Pickaxe and Rare Loot
  • Level 45: Expensive Loot
  • Level 60: Legendary Loot
  • Level 100: Maximum wage bonus

Farming grow times

30 minutesWheat
1 hourCorn
2 hoursCarrots
3 hoursPotatoes
4 hoursTomatoes and Lettuce
5 hoursStrawberries
6 hoursPumpkins
Drops are quick bonus rewards that can appear in chat. They are meant as a fun extra while people are already talking, not something members need to camp.

Leveling

Tiko awards XP from normal non-bot guild messages. Admins can tune where level-up notifications go and which roles unlock at specific levels.

Default XP15 XP per valid message.
Spam channelsNo XP is awarded in channels marked with spam/no-XP commands.
Repeated messagesIf the same user sends 3 consecutive tracked messages, Tiko stops awarding XP for that repeated sequence.
Session boostWelcome and revive sessions can apply a +50% XP boost.
Nitro boosterNitro boosters can receive a +25% XP bonus.
Potion of ExperienceAdds a 50% multiplier on top of calculated XP.

Level role notes

  • Level roles must be below Tiko's highest role.
  • A role cannot be assigned to multiple level thresholds unless the old mapping is removed first.
  • Use /list_roles after setup to verify saved mappings.

Admin setup

Run /setup to open the main setup panel. Saved settings remain even if a setup menu times out.

  1. Set the main Chatting Channel first. It controls drop activity, the default revive channel, and fallback welcome target.
  2. Choose the Welcome Role and Welcome Channel, then customize welcomes with /edit_welcome.
  3. Choose the Reviver Role and allowed revive channels, then customize revives with /edit_revive.
  4. Set the Leveling Channel and add level roles if the server uses role rewards.
  5. Open More Settings for spam channels, extra chatting channels, reward channel, bump reminders, and premium systems.
The main setup panel lasts about 10 minutes. Nested menus expire faster. Re-run /setup to continue editing.

How setup settings connect

Chatting ChannelControls drop activity, default /revive channel, and fallback welcome target.
Welcome ChannelWhere Tiko sends new member welcome messages and welcome cards.
Welcome RoleThe Welcomer job/task role. Tiko may temporarily remove and restore it when users go AFK.
Reviver RoleControls who can use /revive. Tiko may temporarily remove and restore it for AFK users.
Spam ChannelsChannels where XP should not be awarded.
Leveling ChannelWhere level-up notifications are posted. If unset, level-up cards post where the level-up happened.
Reward ChannelCentral place for welcome, revive, and hospitality reward notifications.

Roles and permissions

Most setup issues come from Discord permissions or role hierarchy. Check these before debugging deeper.

Server systems

Channels and drops

Use /chattingchannel, /dropchannel, or /activitychannel for the main tracked channel. Add up to 3 extra chatting channels with /addextrachannel. Drops are triggered by real back-and-forth conversation.

XP and leveling

Valid messages award 15 XP by default. Spam channels do not award XP, and repeated messages from the same user stop counting for that sequence.

Welcomes

Set /welcome_channel and /welcome @role. Greeting rewards run during a 15-minute newcomer window, and each greeter is processed once.

Revives

Members need the Reviver role to use /revive. Sessions last 10 minutes, have a 2-hour cooldown, and are blocked when chat is already active enough.

Bump reminders

Use /bump @role and /bump_channel #channel for Disboard-style reminders. Without a bump channel, reminders fall back to the channel where the bump happened.

Hospitality

Premium servers can use hospitality scoring, /hospmarket, automatic leaderboards, and Member of the Week automation.

Welcome flow

When a member joins, Tiko checks whether the user is new or returning, initializes baseline economy and XP values for new users, resolves a welcome channel, sends the configured message/card/embed, registers the newcomer in cache, and starts a greeting reward session.

  • The greeting reward window lasts 15 minutes.
  • A user cannot greet themselves for reward.
  • Each greeter is processed once per active newcomer session.
  • If reward notifications are enabled and a reward channel is set, Tiko posts the reward embed there.

Revive flow

/revive starts a 10-minute chat revival session. Tiko checks the allowed channel, Reviver role, cooldown, and active-chat protection before opening rewards.

Embed customization

/edit_welcomeCustomize welcome title, description, color, author, fields, thumbnail, image, footer, welcome message text, welcome card usage, and enable/disable behavior.
/edit_reviveCustomize revive title, description, color, author, fields, thumbnail, image, footer, and revive message line.
VariablesUseful welcome variables include <@user_id>, {username}, {user_avatar}, {server_name}, {server_member_count}, {server_icon}, {welcome_role}, {timestamp}, and {welcome_card}.

Verification checklist

After setup, test the basics from both a normal member account and an admin account.

  • /balance, /level, and /quest respond.
  • /dropchannels shows the main chatting/drop channel.
  • /listextrachannels shows extra channels if configured.
  • /check_welcome_channel shows the welcome channel.
  • Messages in non-spam channels increase /level over time.
  • Messages in spam channels do not award XP.
  • Multiple members chatting naturally can trigger drops after thresholds are reached.
  • A test member join sends the welcome message in the configured channel.
  • A Reviver test user can use /revive in an allowed channel.
  • /list_roles shows configured level role mappings.
  • Tiko's role is above every role it needs to assign or remove.
